With more than 50 years of photographic experience, taking pictures has always fascinated me.
By the age of 10 I owned a Kodak 620 camera that I used to photograph thunder storms and people in my hometown. I created fascinating artwork by using a flashlight to paint (or create a design) on the film through an open shutter and also photographed those great thunderstorms.
At 12 I began developing my own film in a makeshift darkroom.
By the time I was 30; I owned and operated a photographic supply store and a small studio, which I used for portraits and commercial photography. I performed custom developing and printing for businesses in both B&W and color negative medias. I also provided same day, in-house processing which was not as common then as it is currently.
Today I use the most modern equipment available and have taken the latest classes in the new technology, to produce fine quality artwork. I specialize in nature and environmental photography. I have photographed people and nature all over the world, but I prefer to capture the scenic beauty of America.
I have won awards for my landscapes and old buildings and have sold pictures of various water scenes (from oceans, to streams, to waterfalls), sunrise, sunsets, and animal pictures.
I still provide commercial photography, weddings and special events.
I do all my own custom matting and framing to bring out the best in any picture.
I have showings set up in various locations and maintain a first class web site. LYPhotography.com has a great assortment of my work. You can look at the images by categories or go straight to the New Arrivals. By clicking on the New Arrivals tab you can go straight to the uncategorized images, so if you have visited before you can look at only the newest images.
I hope you enjoy my work and I look forward to hearing from you soon. You can email me at larry@LYPhotography.com or post comments on my web site.
